VREL-32
VMEbus 32-channel relay output

Description

The VREL-32 is a relay output board for VMEbus-based systems. It was especially designed for applications in industrial

control, were parallel outputs with different voltage potential are used. Altogether 32 relay outputs are available, separated

into 4 channels of 8 bits each. Every channel is build up by one 8 bit register, were the according output data has to be

written at. The output relays are switched directly through these registers. The relay contacts are connected to the

 VMEbus connector P2 row a+c.

The state of each relay can be read back and is displayed by a front panel LED. If the system is powered-up or the VREL-

32 is reset the relays contacts are open. The relays are able to switch voltages of up to 250 volts ac or 110 volts dc with a

maximum current of 3A. The switching power must not exceed 30W/60VA. The high dielectric strength of the relays (1500

volts between coil and contacts) is supported by the geometric layout of the board. The leakage gap between the power

part and the internal logic is at least minimum 2.3mm.

An additional front panel LED indicates selection of the board.
